Kahlua Cake

Posted by: Anu
Serving Size: 8-10

Ingredients:
Chocolate cake mix - Devil'food or Chocolate Fudge - 1lb
Kahlua - 200 ml or less if you wish
Cool Whip - 8oz
Fresh strawberries - sliced vertically - about 4 slices from each berry
Fresh banana - sliced (optional)

Bake the cake and make the pudding as per instructions on the box.
Let the cake cool down for about 5mins and then mash/pick it and slowly mix in the kahlua. In a large bowl (a clear bowl if you wish you decorate the walls) spread 1/2 the cake/kahlua mix, spread some pudding over this followed by the fruits and then the cool whip. Repeat the layering process one more time and decorate as you wish. You can also place the fruits on the walls of the bowl to make it look pretty!! :) Once done, refrigerate and serve chilled.

Notes:

  • If you would like to skip alcohol, you can substitute the Kahlua with any juice or sauce. You need something to make the cake moist. Pick a flavor of your choice and remember to use it in moderation. You don't want a chocolate dough/batter!! You simply need to wet the mushed up cake and add some flavor at the same time.
