More Mocktails ....

Image
Niti and I talked about my Citrus Fizz  this morning; she mentioned how it is a big hit in her friends circle and I have to agree - if I had to name one recipe that I have made the most number of times, this drink wins hands down! It is a good combination of flavors and I have managed to make a lot of twists and variations to this recipe. This drink was inspired by a cocktail that one of our friends served at my grad school farewell party - thanks Noor ! All that said, I have been wanting to experiment on some new flavors! A few new drinks that I have made in the recent past are watermelon-limeade and pom-cran-soda  (will post the recipes soon!). But in the meantime, check out these interesting mocktails I came across on some other blogs, definitely trying these very soon! Here are a couple from Tania's blog  - love the Italian Soda, the first on my to-do list; great pictures, Tania! Italian Soda Pic Source: TurtleCraftyGirl Melonade Pic Source:...

Happy Lemonade Day!

Pics source: Lemonadeday.org I didn't know there was something called a Lemonade Day :) This reminds me of the Chinet ad where people toast to "national left handers day" at the stroke of 12, the message being that you don't really need a strong reason to use Chinet partyware. But then, Lemonade Day has an important and useful motive behind. It's a citywide event that encourages kids to set up lemonade stands thus introducing them to entrepreneurship. Citrus Fizz

Post # 16 Serving Size: 6-8 Posted by: Anu Ingredients: Minute Maid Frozen Lemonade - 1 can Minute Maid Frozen Orange - 1 can Sprite - 2 liters Fresh orange - 1, sliced Fresh lime - 1, sliced Ice - 2-3 cups In a punch bowl, pour the lemonade and orange, mix well and slowly mix in the Sprite. Add the orange slices, lime slices, ice and serve!! Notes: If you are preparing the punch ahead of time, save the Sprite and ice for later. You don't want to lose the fizz or dilute the drink too much. You can also add mint leaves. If preparing ahead of time, add it along with the frozen juices and if you are serving right away, crush the leaves in a mortar pestle before adding. To kick it up a notch, mix in some vodka (250-500ml)!!! April 2, 2011 I twisted the recipe a little bit. This time it was frozen orange (1 can), frozen limeade (1/4 of the can), 3-4 tbsp of honey, 2" ginger (I crushed the ginger, ran it in the blender with some water and added it to the...

LemonAle

Post # 5 Posted by: Anu Serving size: 3-4 Ingredients: Minute Maid Frozen Lemonade - 1 can Ginger Ale (any brand, regular and not lite) - 1 liter Honey - 2-3 tbsp Pour the lemonade in your serving container and slowly pour in the ale along the walls of the container. Warm the honey in the microwave for 10 seconds, pour some lemonade/ale in it, mix well and add it to the serving container. Prepare the drink right before serving so you can save the fizz in the ginger ale.
